Description of his Game:  Diego is the most capped Uruguayan of all time and is also the country’s record scorer. Strong, fast, extremely focused and highly skilled, he's as hard to defend as anyone.  Though at the age of 34 he may start showing signs of slowing down in the next couple of years, he is still a high threat for Uruguay.

Career News:  Diego left Manchester United in 2004 after two mostly non-productive seasons. He then went to Spain to play for Villarreal, where his luck turned, scoring 54 goals in 106 league games and took the club, which had not played in Europe until 2002, to the Champions League semi-finals, in 2006.  Diego then won the Uefa Cup with Atlético Madrid in 2008 and won the "Golden Ball" award after being voted the best player of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Interesting Personal Facts:  Diego Forlan is a founding member of a foundation headed by his sister dealing with dangerous driving. Back in 1991, his sister suffered a car accident where she lost her boyfriend and became paralyzed as a result. Diego Maradona met Forlán's father during that time, since he was a football player in the 1970s, and helped him raise funds for his daughter’s treatment. She became an integral part of his inspiration to play football.
