Career News:  Rooney was a true phenom growing up, becoming England's youngest ever goalscorer. 

Interesting Personal Facts:  Aged nine, Rooney joined the youth team of Everton, for whom he made his professional debut in 2002 at the age of 16.  He is of Irish descent, and gave up a career in boxing at 16 in order to play for Everton.  He has a tattoo of the words "Just Enough Education to Perform", the title of an album by his favourite band, the Stereophonics.
